Pilates has brought me a newfound connection with my body. I have always been a heavy lifter(and still am occasionally), but since venturing into Pilates, I have discovered that I really love what this does for me.
For me, I think the biggest difference is how this practice forces me to slow down and focus on my breathing and strength. Whereas when I was lifting everyday, everything felt fast-paced, crowded, a little awkward and feeling like you’re always under speculation.
Hot mat Pilates especially has helped me feel strong, confident, and connected to my body in ways that I wasn’t before. After a class I always found myself left feeling re-energized, even after getting my butt kicked. Best part was it didn’t matter if I chose a morning or evening class, any time left me feeling my best.
But what I love most is how it has taught me balance, not just in movement, but in mindset too! It has helped me slow down, tune in, and carry that same calm strength into the rest of my life.
